Have wanted A pair of K horns for years. Contacted Klipsch for a local dealer to hear these speakers. After 3 weeks they finally got back to me. In today’s economy I don’t see that many people with 15 k to spend on speakers. Bought a pair of La Scalas which I like very much. The companies customer service is very poor really 3 weeks for a response.

They are everything all the "audiophile" reviews say they are. Beyond the classic look (I love all things wood), the mid-range clarity and presence cannot be beat. Imaging is surprisingly good for horns. They are very large, but can perform very well in a smaller room if you give yourself time to move them around (get some furniture sliders). I added a decent subwoofer - tuned VERY low and barely noticeable unless its turned off - but that's only necessary if you listen to any genres intended to have a wide bottom, otherwise not needed at all.Packed and delivered very well (arrived quickly on on two crates, shrink-wrapped and tied down with steel straps) Count on having them (and curious neighbors wondering if you ordered two refrigerators) in your driveway until you can unwrap and separate the cabinets in order to get through the door.Couple with a good tube amp and they're worth every penny. Beautifully and unique in every way.

(Klipsch LaScala). I got a new/first pair of these in 2003 from an authorized dealership. I allowed him to keep them on display for 2 weeks since he never had a pair of the larger Klipsch speakers in his store. Excellent speaker. About 4 months after i got these Klipsch changed the low frequency driver which moved the low response to 45hz. Mine are 42. These are outstanding in every way. Expensive yes. Mine were $2800. All Mcintosh power & preamp. You cannot run low level gear with these speakers, so be aware of that up front.

I own La Scalas and Heresy II's ( my center channel). These speakers are beyond mere words, the sheer dynamic range, the incredible amount of particulate energy at an Db level.Okay, so I put a pair of KG 4.2s in the back, so, the Industrial La Scalas (K-43 woofers), Heresy II's hooked up in parallel as my center channel, 2 R-10SWs, yeah, I really needed the KG 4.2s for surround speakers.The KG series, from the early 1990's uses some of the same horn drivers. Acoustically, they're agreeable with the Heritage line. they're all part of the Arkansas Klipsch family, the most distinguished of all ( totally IMHO (Please excuse my messy couch)).The La Scala has existed since 1963 when it first went into production as a PA speaker, the reason it's still being sold is because it's just better than anything else. Just think of how many of its competitors are no longer produced or are shadow of their former selves.
