My YFM225 was burning oil and smoking really bad. I rebuilt the top end for my first time with this kit and no more smoke! It's still running great after 8 months. I'd recommend this kit to anyone wanting to keep their old Yamaha going.

Good product. All parts came with it. But there were no instructions for installing rings on piston. I found some instructions on you tube. Took about 4 hours to pull apart and reinstall, and it cranked up. Thx

Rebuilt my 1985 ytm-225dx with this kit. I bought OEM gaskets and O-rings still and I didn't use the spark plug provided. Measure everything twice, the rings happened to be gapped within OEM specs out of the box. My YTM originally had a blown head gasket and low compression. Now hits a top speed of 45mph on the old three-wheeler and got nice compression back.
