Ordered this because I'm in the process of changing how I store data, and it's a lot easier to use something like this than the alternative, which is opening up the "transition" computer I was using to do this before and connecting/disconnecting. Not sure why I never thought to get something like this before but I'm kind of mad at myself for waiting this long LOL.This item is pretty simple - it's an enclosure for an SSD. But unlike most other SSD enclosures, this one is not "closed" - it's a fully open, dock/bay style interface where you can connect drives directly to it to do...whatever it is you need to do. Generally that means taking all the data off the old drive, moving it to a new spot (or the cloud) and then wiping/sanitizing the old drive. Due to the design of this, you connect said drive right onto the correct port and...that's it. Very simple, even if you have never used one of these before. I was prepared for this to be super complicated and require all kinds of Googling but...nope! What a pleasant surprise!This unit has 4 spots to dock to - 2 which will take a NVMe, and two which will take "regular" SATA drives. You can have a drive in ALL of them at the same time without any issue, which is a huge plus...and I experienced no issues with latency or random disconnection. (This was something that someone who is far more tech savvy than me told me to watch out for...) All you have to do to recognize those drives is put them in their respective bays and connect to your computer. That's it! Super simple.The unit itself is fairly small so it's easy to keep in a drawer or even on the desk if you are going to be using it often. It comes with everything you need including well written instructions and a high power AC cord that is a bit large, but I get why it probably needs to be, considering what this item does.As for pricing, I feel like this is a good value considering how well this thing works - and it's around the same price or slightly less than other items that do the same thing.While I ordered this to serve the needs of a specific project, I found it so easy to work with that I am going to bust out the box of "are they dead or nah?" hard drives that I have sitting in a box in the closet, and start consolidating those drives too...a task that is long overdue in this home office.Overall, if you need to condense data, or move it from one drive to another or elsewhere, etc. then I highly recommend this item to make the job a lot faster and more efficient. I found it immensely helpful and I have no doubt that you will, too!

I finally have a product that works with all my drives from hard drives to laptops that will download computer items going back to 1999. I have tried others, and they just don't work. This is solid, works wonderfully, is compatible with so many drives, and uses plug and play. It fits all types of drivers. The build quality is amazing, the fit is magnificent, and it's so easy to use. The noise level is low; I can listen to music while doing this. It barely gets warm, nothing hot. I have a desktop computer drive packed away somewhere in the garage. I will find it this weekend. This device is beyond belief. The price point can't be beat. I didn't even know if it was going to work, it did, and it did so quickly. I found a lot of pictures and so many songs it wasn't even imaginable. I love it!

Works as advertised. I had a few hard drives from old laptops that I was able to retrieve files from. Drives were out of Windows based platforms and recovered onto an Apple PowerBook. 2 drives were IDE and 1 SATA. Great tool and worth the money!

This item is so simple that it seems obvious. It's very easy and quick to use for things like testing hard disks, and quickly examining their contents. It works better than my HDD USB dock, which doesn't seem to let drive diagnostics fully examine the drive. Overall, a very useful piece of kit.
