I had my condo remolded and the contractor connected the lights directly to the fan switch. The fan doesn't have a place where you can just turn on the fan or off. So when I turned on the fan, the lights are on too. There was no way that I could turn off the lights and keep the fan on by itself unless I call an electrician and a dry wall person to come out for $500 or more to do this. So, I talked to some folks and they said that if I buy the Philip's Hue and a couple of other things, than I would be good to go.This worked great! It was easy to install and no my fan can be on without the lights being on. This solved my problem and only cost a fraction of what it would cost to get an electrician out. Awesome!

I replaced all my recessed lights with these. They were easy to install and even easier to set up. The lights work with Alexa and google. The lights are very natural looking and no one can tell the difference. Great to have when your are downstairs and left upstairs lights on. I highly recommend

Love the ability to change color temp in the walk in closet. Size of the space it went into was 7’ x 11’. One bulb wasn’t quite bright enough, so had to use two, but I don’t have to have them at full brightness necessarily. Much better than the 100W CFL they replaced.Note that these are white only. You can adjust the color temp only. If these were the color changing bulbs, they would say “Hue White and Color Ambiance”. You must use these with a hub, either a Philips Hue or a third party compatible one like the Echo Dot Plus. Also, you have to use a Hue compatible dimmer or the Hue app to control the lights. A traditional wall dimmer will not work.

Check your measurements!

The 5” size refers to the size of the hole that the unit fits into, not the exterior of the fixture. My fixture is 6” but the hole is only 4”.

This item is great, syncs easily. Install is a breeze, and works as advertised. But we received this item without a shipping box. It was shipped to us with the shipping label attached to the Philips Hue box.... that wasn't even sealed! We were lucky that we have a hallway at our house and it wasn't raining. Please fix this Amazon!

I'm talking myself into more of them based on A/C savings. Old can lights have hot zone into attic, not sealed. These lay flat against the ceiling. White frame not old yellowed ones, clean look, better lighting and I can now install them in less than 2 minutes each! LOVE

I pre-ordered these lights and waited patiently (approx 3 weeks). They came in and I installed them myself. Super, super easy! You’ll need a ladder (I have 8 foot ceilings), and that’s it! Be sure to write down the serial number on the side of the light because you need that to set up your Hue app. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with this purchase. No more coffee tables simply to hold a lamp. I have 4 downlights in the living room and now I can control what area I want to light. Above the TV, yep, click (on the app), above the couch, yep, another click (on the app). Happy camper here.
