HDMI is great, audio and video in one cable. But, there's the rub: The cable part. These devices promise to eliminate the drilling, stapling, taping, pulling, hiding, etc. aspects of running that cable by eliminating it. I decided to give them a try.The package arrived very quickly: Overnight. Just as expected. Everything looked to be in good condition.As with most such wireless adapters, there is a transmitter and a receiver. Both have HDMI plugs along with USB-C jacks for power. The transmitter can source its power from HDMI connector on the source device when available. It's kind of too bad all HDMI connectors don't have a built-in power source because that would make this type of adapter premo in the plug-and-play arena.I tried them using a laptop and a small monitor. At a distance of around 50 feet, through 3 interior walls, and in another case, at that same distance through a brick exterior wall, I noticed no issues with the audio or video received. There was a bit of consternation in getting the units to pair properly. There are buttons associated with the blue lights on the transmitter and receiver which can be used to "encourage" them to pair. Provided you repeat the magic incantation while holding your mouth just right . . . On Thursday afternoons. It's not quite that bad but it can be a bit tedious. In some cases, the body of the transmitter or receiver may interfere and not allow the device to fit into the appropriate HDMI jack as required. If so, cable can be used to resolve that issue.The initial offering price was very attractive. If it remains at that level, this product will be an absolute bargain.
