The optical quality looks great. This lens hood and filter provide great protection to the RICOH's lens and does not add extraordinary amount of bulk.I did encounter two things.1. My lens has fingerprints on it from the manufacturer, see my included photos. They did come off with the included cleaning cloth. Which is great.2. The silicone protective cap is very bendy. Thus anything inside the cap or on the outside of the lens will get pushed right against the glass. Causing smears, scratches, or other undesirable optical situations. They should have used a different style of cap.Overall, SmallRig is there for your needs with good accessories. The lens hood also provides extra grip. The RICOH GR IV is lightweight and does well with one handed use, but if you need something to help steady the camera with your other hand, this is pretty helpful.

This SmallRig UV filter and lens hood combo is a practical solution for protecting the sensor of my Ricoh GR IV from dust, which is honestly one of the only imperfections with the modern Ricoh GR series. The all-in-one design is really convenient, but there's one small drawback I'll get into later. The entire thing mounts securely with the bayonet system and doesn't interfere with the viewfinder or flash if you have those attached, which is important for this compact camera. Too bulky and it doesn't feel compact anymore, so I'm glad they kept it as small as possible. The lens hood does a good job reducing flare and stray light, and the multi-layer coating seems to maintain image quality without any noticeable color cast or softness. I'm not really worried about flare since this is a street photo camera and I like to embrace the scene.The silicone protective cap is a nice touch for storage and transportation. Build quality feels solid, and the fit is precise as you'd expect from SmallRig.The only drawback for me is that the UV filter is permanently integrated into the hood assembly, so you can't swap it out for a different filter type (like a polarizer or ND filter or pro-mist) if you wanted to. Perfect lens cap, in both fit and look. I wish there was a plastic option, as I don't like the sound of this cap clinking against my camera now and again, but its the nicest one Ive seen.
