I bought this as a first telescope for a child, and it seems like a great option. Setup was simple, and the scope is light enough for her to handle on her own but still feels sturdy. The optics seem clear and sufficient for the basic moon/stargazing that we'll be doing. It’s a nice balance of quality and ease of use for a beginner, and a good value for the price. This shorter form-factor is also nice compared to the longer/taller ones.

A great telescope for the beginners. Simple to use, it has clean lens and good accessories.Gave us a goosebump seeing craters on the moon! It took us a few tries to adjust the lens, but once we did, it’s exciting to looking at the moon and stars every clear night. The image quality is incredible. The tripod is sturdy.The telescope is equipped with two interchangeable eyepieces 12.5 and 20mm for powerful images. Viewfinder with crosshairs makes it easier to locate objects. The setup was straightforward, even for someone like me who’s never owned the telescope before. It works perfectly well, worth every penny of my money!

After checking reviews and reading comments, I decided to purchase EAConn telescope. Although I was happy to see that the instructions were written in clear grammatically correct English, setup is so easy, they really weren't needed. I immediately took it outside and focused on a stop sign 2.5 miles down the road. It was crystal clear. Then, as luck would have it, we had clear skies that night. So, I headed outside to see how well it worked by viewing the moon. In full discloser, I'm a total amature. In fact, the last time I looked through a telescope, I was a kid (many years ago) but WOW! The moon looked amazingly beautiful. The craters were very clear. The only downside, is the tripod. It's very wobbly and does not move smoothly. It folds up compact and it's good for travel. However, I happened to have a better tripod used for photography which made it much easier to hone in on objects of interest. For me, the telescope was well worth the price.
