Overall I like the lens, well constructed, light weight, excellent image quality. My only disappointment is that it is difficult to get the zoom focal length to stop at a given value. I prefer the mechanical zooms.

I was looking for a lighter weight zoom for travel that also has OIS. This fit the bill perfectly. The quality, finish, and low aperture isn't the same as XF lenses. But it was a perfect for outdoor shots when traveling without the weight.

It is small and light and has a zoom. Sounded perfect for travel. I bought it and went traveling with it.The bad:1) The opening is so small that on a ordinary cloudy day it is too dark to take pictures. Taking pictures inside is not possible at all. So I could take most of pictures I wanted to with the camera and had to use the phone. I often didn’t take camera with me at all.2) Focusing is unstable. It can never decide where to focus and keep shifting between nearby positions.3) It burns battery like crazy. I can easily travel for a week without taking a charger with me because XT1 doesn’t burn battery much. This lens burnt a full battery in a day.4) To set aperture manually you have to rotate a small wheel on your camera body. The lens us sluggish snd not always react.5) Focusing takes forever. First lens wouldn’t react, then overdo what you want, then you’d manage to zoom it properly. But that time the subject is gone and the scenes changed.Very disappointing and frustrating. I want to get of this lens.I also thought I bought it from a real person, not Amazon warehouse. Never had good experience buying from Amazon warehouse. But almost always did buying from real people.
