An all-round protective case

I have been a Lifeproof owner for years, going through 3 cases for my iPhone 6 over several years, but never damaging the phone, even after passing the phone on to active boys. I tried a different, well-rated, case on my next phone and suffered numerous cracks on the screen. This led me back to Lifeproof for the iPhone 13. I made a warranty claim on the first one after the port cover broke off and the lens covers were so marked up that all my photos were "atmospheric." The warranty was straight-forward, but I could not get the same colour replacement due to the availability in the Otterbox warehouse. Otterbox advertise the product as good for surfing, but sunblock and the lens cover are a terrible combination, leading to blurry photos. I have been more careful this past summer, but still had some blurring of the lens covers. I have managed to keep the charging port intact on the second iPhone 13 case by being extra diligent about what I am doing when the port cover is open. The screen cover takes some getting used to, but I have not had any problems with it. For wireless charging in my car, I don't see any difference between the Fre with MagSafe case and an iPhone without a case.

I wanted something that had an actual screen protector for my iPhone 13 because I cracked the screen. I did test out the case under water before I put my phone in the case. Yes, to my amazement no water got into the case. It's a tight fit so if you are wanting to change your case a lot this may not be the best choice. I like that it's waterproof. So that when I'm walking, I don't have to worry about the sweat ruining my phone.

Rich purple, great fitment, the rubber part (around the screen) wears off over time. As is, it’s a 3 star product.But I drop my phone all the flipping time, including down a mountain at one point, and this case has kept my phone from breaking. At what they’ve priced it, the manufacturer is being robbed. If you’re on the fence, buy it. Would HIGHLY recommend.

LifeProof has long been a trusted name in phone cases, but now that it’s owned by OtterBox, time will tell if the same level of quality and durability remains. I’ve used LifeProof cases in the past with no issues, and this is my first experience with one under OtterBox’s ownership.Right away, I noticed that the case is quite slick and could benefit from a bit more texture for a better grip. On the plus side, the fit is excellent, the screen remains clear and highly responsive, and overall, the case feels well-constructed. However, the buttons—particularly for volume, sleep/Siri, and the silence switch—are extremely tight and require significant pressure to use. It’s possible they’ll loosen up over time, so I’ll provide an update after more use.The case does feel sturdy, but when dropped, it hits hard with a solid thud, which raises some concerns about impact protection. Given how slick it is, a bit more shock absorption might be beneficial.As for waterproofing, I tested the case by submerging it for an hour—twice the recommended 30 minutes—using a paper towel inside. While no water got in, I did notice air bubbles escaping from the area around the flash glass. While this didn’t result in leaks, it does make me question whether that spot could become a potential weak point over time.For now, I’m giving the case 4 stars due to the slick texture, stiff buttons, and uncertainty about its long-term durability. However, these aren’t dealbreakers, and it’s still a solid case overall. I’ll update this review in a few months, but in the meantime, I wouldn’t let these minor flaws deter you from purchasing it.

Favorite Case

This is the best phone case I have come across. I have broken ever other phone case I have ever gotten. But not this one! This is the second phone I have gotten this case for and I wouldn't get anything else. It protects your phone and keeps the case intact. This case has kept my phone from breaking when I have: dropped it out of a window of a moving vehicle on a gravel road, been tossed across a parking lot, fallen off a roof and dropped so many times. I'm very clumsy and have not had a phoen break or get a scratch since using this case. 100% reccomend to anyone that has a phone that like to try to escape your hands. When I get a new phone I'll be getting another of these cases. Durable, water resistant, and lightweight.
