This hub adds externally accessible USB A and C ports, along with retractable USB C and Lightning cords, to your 2024 and earlier Model Y, in a way that makes it seem like it originally came with the car. The color is a perfect match with the console, integrating seamlessly ahead of the cupholders. There is an illuminated “Tesla” logo with replacable overlays in the center that cannot be turned off, so be aware in case this might be something that bothers you. The retractable cables are long enough to easily reach my phone where they are mounted high on the left corner of the carʻs touchscreen. Unfortunately neither of these cables provide enough power to meaningfully charge either of my newer USB-C or older Lightning equipped iPhone Pro Maxes. Not only are they slow, but during a particularly long, two hour Teams meeting, my phone actually dropped a couple percent of charge. Only the USB-C port provides enough juice to give me about a twenty percent increase in charge on an average forty minute morning commute. The USB-A port is just as slow as the cables. Pass on this if you require fast charging. That being said, the lowly charging rate is great for not stressing the batteries on smaller accessories such as headsets and earphones, which I use on a daily basis. Itʻs also fine on a long road trip, where a charge can be maintained, similar to a trickle charge, if youʻre starting off with a healthy charge already. Overall, while I wish it was more powerful, I do like that Iʻm not stressing my batteries out by constantly pushing too much power too fast into my phone… and a little planning allows me to maximize this benefit by charging at the end of the day during my hour-plus evening commute home. If youʻre okay with the limitations, this hub is a fine addition to your Model Y.

I got this for convenient charging of devices in my 2022 Tesla Model 3. The hub comes with an installation flyer, a customer support card, and two additional covers for the center LED lighted space. There is no information about where this is made. The flyer has a diagram specifying the parts of the hub on one side, and installation instructions with pictures and text on the other side. The hub is easy to install. Note that setting it in the console at an angle helps before sliding it into place. The connectors have plenty of space to easily reach the car connections underneath in the console, and the cords are left with just a little play. The cover to the console closes perfectly against the hub. The LED lighted section in the middle has a tab with “TESLA” already inserted. There are two additional customizing tabs for that space: one with the logo and TESLA in small letters, and a solid black one if you do not want the light. All three tabs have a peel-off plastic protective cover; the two loose tabs have an adhesive strip around the bottom edge with a removable protective cover. Since I do not want the branding or the light, I want to remove the installed tab and replace it with the black one. I cannot find a way to do that. Maybe if I find an extremely thin tool I can pry out the installed tab. I could add the one I want on top, but that would not sit flush with the hub. So this is a problem. The USB-C and Lightning connections on cords extract to 31.5 inches as indicated on the product page. This is more than enough for people in the front seats. For people in the back seat, the cords are only long enough to set devices on the back of the console between the front seats, and not long enough to hold and use devices. One side of the customer support card invites you to contact them for any needed support, and says they are available any time by “phone, email or live chat.” However, no phone number, email address, or website are provided. The other side of the card has a QR code for a warranty. It says, “Expires 24 hours after receipet.” I scanned the code with my phone more than 24 hours after receipt, and the code opens a pre-completed email in my email app, including the text to request a “2-year warranty extension” and “Please let me know the next steps to proceed….” I submitted this email to find out their process. I received a response and there is no warranty. The hub functions perfectly. The USB-C cord is toward the driver side and the Lightning (labeled “PD”) cord toward the passenger side. The thing I don’t like about access to the Lightning cord is that I have to touch the end of the connection to lift it out, and that can damage and / or soil the connector. The USB-A connection on the driver side is partially blocked by the tab for the plastic protective cover on the light, so the plastic has to be removed. The connections seem to function great. The light cover issue and accessing the Lightning cord without risk of damage are the problems for me.

This charging hub has a retractable USB C and a retractable Lighting connector which is great to charge both my newer iPhone with the C cord and my AirPods with the lighting cord. It also has plugs for an old school USB A and an additional USB C cord. All cords and plugs work perfectly and charge fast. The design of the hub matches the look of the car 100% so it blends right in making it look like part of the car. Installing it took a free minutes to angle and wedge it in just right. It has the Tesla lettering on the center which lights up a nice shade of blue, the hub includes two alternate insets to replace the Tesla lettering; a “T” logo and what appears to be just a solid black cover but I can’t figure out how to change it, the instructions don’t say which is why I’m only giving 4 Stars. But overall it’s a nice hub and will come in handy. Just make sure your car is the right model for this hub, it will it work with the 2024 or newer models.UPDATE: I tried to change the logo plate and both the hub and the logo plate got scratched, I contacted the seller who was very responsive and volunteered to send me a new hub and provided a video showing how to pry out the old plate to replace it. The new hub arrived today and I was able to swap out the logo plate, it wasn't easy but I did it, updating to 5 stars.
